Why Busa dell'Oro?
Busa dell’Oro, also known as buca dell’Oro, originates from an ancient and fascinating local legend. It tells the story of a brave mercenary soldier who served under the fierce thirteenth-century lord Ezzelino da Romano. Tired of continuous wars and devastation, the soldier decided to desert and escape from the condottiero’s ranks.
Relentlessly pursued by Ezzelino’s men, he sought refuge among the rugged hills of our Euganean Hills. In an act of cunning, he managed to hide the rich booty accumulated during many battles in a secret hole, which he took care to carefully conceal.
Although he was eventually caught and died fighting to avoid captivity, he carried with him the secret of the location where he had hidden the gold. From that moment on, despite several attempts, the treasure has never been found and still lies hidden somewhere, waiting to come to light.
The legend of Busa dell’Oro embodies the mystery and enchantment of these places, ready to reveal their secrets to anyone willing to seek.
Our Production
The Fattoria Busa dell’Oro is characterized by its lush vegetation, including chestnut trees, various fruit trees, and olive trees.
Every year, in the month of November, it harvests an average of 600 kg of olives, which are processed in a traditional way using stone mills. This artisanal process gives life to the “Fattoria Busa dell’Oro” Extra Virgin Olive Oil, obtained through cold pressing and characterized by a delicate fragrance.
