Why Busa dell'Oro?
Busa dell’Oro, or also called the Gold Pit, originates from an ancient and fascinating local legend. It tells the story of a valiant soldier of fortune who served under the fierce thirteenth-century lord Ezzelino da Romano. Tired of the constant warfare and devastation, the soldier decided to desert and flee from the leader’s ranks.
Relentlessly pursued by Ezzelino’s men, he took refuge in the rugged hills of our Euganean Hills. In an act of cunning, he managed to hide the rich booty accumulated during many battles in a secret hole, which he then took care to carefully conceal.
Although he was caught up and died fighting to avoid imprisonment, he carried with him the secret of the location where he had hidden the gold. Since that time, despite several attempts, the treasure has never been found and still lies, hidden somewhere, waiting to be unearthed again.
The legend of the Busa of Gold embodies the mystery and enchantment of these places, ready to reveal their secrets to anyone willing to look.
Our Production
The Busa dell’Oro Farm is characterized by its lush vegetation, which includes chestnut trees, various fruit trees and olive trees.
He harvests an average of 600 kilograms of olives each year in November, which are processed in the traditional way through stone mills. This artisanal process gives birth to“Fattoria Busa dell’Oro” Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which is cold-pressed and characterized by a delicate fragrance.
