The Abbey of Praglia stands right at the foot of our B&B and was founded in the years between the 11th and 12th centuries.
The Benedictine community inhabiting it consists of 44 members whose day is filled with work and prayer, as dictated by the Rule of St. Benedict. The monastery currently houses the national library, an authentic Italian monument with uncertain origins that has undergone various reductions in its book collection over time. Nevertheless, it remains an important workshop where ancient books are restored.
We recommend starting the visit from the apse of the abbey church, built in 1530, and continuing with the religious complex consisting of four cloisters with different functions.
