The Church of San Giorgio represents the focal point of Tramonte, a small hillside fraction in the municipality of Teolo. Tramonte, unlike other hamlets in the area, does not gather around a square or a neighborhood, but is made up of scattered houses and villas among forests and cultivated fields. Among the works, the roundels depicting the Twelve Apostles, a work by the artist of the school of Jacopo da Montagnana.

Benedictine monastery where you can admire precious treasures such as the grand Refectory and the ancient library, as well as the hanging cloisters. Its book restoration center is internationally renowned.

SANCTUARY OF OUR LADY OF HEALTH IN MONTEORTONE (3 km)

Sanctuary dating back to 1428. Inside, you can find the frescoes by Jacopo da Montagnana and paintings by Palma il Giovane.

MONASTERY OF SAN DANIELE (5km)

This Benedictine monastery, dating back to 1706, is currently inhabited and managed by a small community of 20 nuns, whose lives are guided by the rule of “ora et labora” (pray and work).
The Church: Sunday and solemnities at 9:30 AM; weekdays at 7:30 AM.
The museum: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM / 3:10 PM – 5:00 PM (weekdays only) Free admission.
Near the Church, there is a small bar-restaurant where Monastery products such as honey, pollen, bitters, and cosmetics, produced according to the monastery’s original recipes, are also available for purchase.

Eremo-camaldolese-di-Monte-Rua-
CAMALDOLESE HERMITAGE OF MONTE RUA (8km)

Dating back to 1542, it features 14 cells around a 14th-century sanctuary dedicated to the Assumption, still inhabited by monks leading a cloistered life. Solitude and Silence are the fundamental rules. Accessible only to men.

FAI – Villa dei Vescovi (5km)

Considered the first transplant of the taste for Roman classicism in the hinterland of the Serenissima Republic, it preserves the most extraordinary example of fresco decoration in Veneto before the revolution imposed by Paolo Veronese.

MONUMENTAL GARDEN OF VALSANZIBIO (10Km)

The Barbarigo-Pizzoni Ardemani Garden in Valsanzibio covers an area of 150,000 square meters and stands as one of the most important and refined examples of an Italian Garden. Inside, the Valsanzibio labyrinth connects water features, pools, statues, and a variety of botanical species.

BUTTERFLY HOUSE AND ENCHANTED WOOD (8Km)

Situated near the Euganean Hills, in the heart of one of the largest thermal areas in Italy, is the first Butterfly House built in Italy and one of the first in the world. The Castle of Catajo is a monumental building with 350 rooms, built from the 16th century onwards by Pio Enea I Obizzi near Battaglia Terme.

Located at the Casa Marina nature and environmental education center, the botanical garden, opened on April 28, 2017, focuses on the conservation and propagation of endangered species in the Euganean Hills. It promotes, through knowledge, the development of genuinely environmentally friendly tourism that respects the territory.

In Arquà Petrarca, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is the house of Francesco Petrarca, dating back to 1369. Palazzo Barbaran da Porto, Palazzo Valmarana, Palazzo Pojana, Palazzo Chiericati, are all buildings designed by Palladio that dot the city center.
The Basilica, a symbol of the city and named after the renowned architect, is another work of the famous architect, known as the Basilica Palladiana or Palazzo delle Ragione. The Teatro Olimpico, designed based on ancient Greek theaters, is also a project of the great architect, as is the dome of the Cathedral.

MONSELICE (22Km)

A bridge connecting the Euganean Hills and the plain, Monselice became a fortified civitas during the Este period. In 1405, the Venetians adorned it with patrician residences. Worth visiting are Cà Marcello, Villa Nani, the Ancient Cathedral, the distinctive Via delle Sette Chiesette, and the splendid Villa Duodo designed by Scamozzi.

The cradle of the Paleoveneti, Este is the oldest city in the Euganean territory, with a history dating back almost 3,000 years, as evidenced by numerous and fascinating archaeological finds now preserved in the National Atestino Museum. The castle is imposing, the Cathedral of S. Tecla magnificent, and there are splendid villas with parks designed by Japelli. Illustrious Italian and foreign figures such as Shelley, Byron, and Debussy have been guests in this city.

MONTAGNANA (43Km)

A fortified medieval city, Montagnana owes its incredible city walls to the rule of the Carraresi. The walls are intact, stretching 2 km with 24 powerful hexagonal towers, each almost 20 meters high. The tallest tower is the famous keep of Castel S. Zeno. Known for the Palio and the unparalleled Prosciutto Crudo Dolce di Montagnana!

CITTADELLA (45Km)

The city walls of Cittadella represent one of the few examples of a defensive system with a walkable battlement still preserved over time and arriving intact to the present day. It is therefore one of the most beautiful defensive systems in Europe. The walls rise to an average height of 14 meters, but in the towers overlooking the gates, they reach up to 30 meters.

ABANO TERME AND MONTEGROTTO TERME (7Km)

They represent the oldest and most important thermal center in Europe and have been a tourist destination for over 2000 years due to the warm thermal waters and healing mud with significant therapeutic properties.

PEDESTRIAN AREA AND THERMAL URBAN PARK: From Piazza Fontana to the Montirone Gardens.

MONTE MONTIRONE: Once rich in thermal springs naturally flowing at a temperature of 80°C; today, you can still find stone basins with hot, steaming water, symbolizing the millennia-old thermal tradition of Abano.

VILLA BASSI RATHGEB: A splendid villa from the 16th century, with frescoes attributed to Buttafogo or Antonio Vassilacchi, known as Aliense. Now a civic art gallery housing the most important works from the Roberto Bassi Rathgeb Collection.

INTERNATIONAL MASK MUSEUM: An integrated museum center to promote and enhance culture, arts, and performance. It also houses an extraordinary collection of masks, original geo-ethno-anthropological artifacts, and works from the most significant cultural areas of the planet.

MONTEGROTTO TERME

Places to visit:

ROMAN EXCAVATIONS OF THE ANCIENT TERME DI MONTEGROTTO TERME: The area is open to visitors, allowing a close look at Roman-era excavations. It serves as the starting point for an interesting archaeological itinerary, including various stops, with the most significant being the excavations of Via Neroniana and the thermal complex of the Hotel Terme Neroniane.

VILLA DRAGHI: A noble villa from the 1700s, named after its last owners, nestled in the greenery near Monte Ceva. The villa is not open to the public, but the hill with its trails is a destination for walks and runs in the greenery for both locals and tourists.
